You’re welcome. If you seal the wood after staining…like with a spray lacquer, the lacquer shouldn’t fill the grooves. After a light sanding and another light coat of lacquer, you can brush on black paint…and quickly wipe it off, but it will still stay in the grooves. try it some time on a spare part…or even where the letters and numbers are etched in.
