I am so close to the finish line with Fairyland so I won’t be showing you full photos today, just heavily cropped photos of some of the elements that went in today.
Remaining to go are the 2 water wheels which are just drying after a final tough of glue and some beads, The ‘spray’ on the waterfalls and wiring the lights.
With the stone support pillar underneath, as I was unable to do what I intended by replacing the paper aspect completely with stones, I found a happy medium.
Firstly I put the stones that came with it on one side, and then the pink marble that I bought on the other to see which one looks better, given that neither of them completely match the paper rock images.
I think the pink marbel is still the better choice, so I went ahead and put them all in place, and once the glue dried, gave them a light gloss varnish with my airbrush to bring out the pinks and yellows of the marble.
Besides the stones, today’s focus was the greenery and getting the bottom buildings in place.
Here are my closeup’s No trying to peak at the rest of the model.
One of 2 cherry blossoms
Waterlillies (I love how these turned out). 4 overlaid pieces of paper bent into shape.
Plants around the grotto. This pink one was an additional I added. There are a few plant customisations, but I still used all of the ones supplies as well.
I little peak and the underneath level. (Opps, bit of glue there that I need to clean off.)
The second cherry blossom
And finally the bridge.
To give myself a break after this, I started on the Christmas book nook, Christmas Street. I will continue this tomorrow after I complete Fairyland and before I make a start on my first customisation challenge piece.
A nice array of materials provided in the box.
And this is where I am finishing up for today.
