Today, all of Catalonia celebrates Sant Jordi.

What is Sant Jordi?

The legend of Saint George tells how a brave knight saved a princess and a town from a fearsome dragon in Montblanc, Catalonia. When he killed the beast, a rosebush of red roses sprang from its blood, and he gave one of the roses to the princess. It is celebrated on April 23rd, the day of the book and the rose.

In Barcelona, ​​the streets become beautiful, filled with flower and book stalls.

Traditionally, roses are given to your female partner and books to your male partner.

But nowadays, it’s done in many ways; books and flowers can be given to anyone, male or female, to friends, family, coworkers, etc.

I’m sharing some photos I took; we bought a dragon cake at home.
