📖 [Rolife Journey] Flowery Sweets & Teas Update #5

More tiny details! The doughnut is actually a piece of round wood painted brown and the icing on top is crumpled tissue paper glued on. You see this kind of design a lot in older kits and I honestly think it’s so clever!

I also made the only book in this entire kit! It’s extremely tiny and I gave it a Totoro book cover. The flip side is from Whisper of the Heart. :pink_heart:

The instructions told me to use a thin white wire for the lollipop stick but they were really flimsy to work with. I ended up using some brown and gold wire from my stash instead and I think it turned out really well.

Here’s a little shelf for the radio. I didn’t bother painting it since once it’s on the wall you’ll hardly see it.

I’m not the biggest fan of the pink radio. But since it’s made of paper I didn’t really paint it. The shape of the cutout was also a bit tricky to measure and replace so I left it as is. I don’t think it’ll be very noticeable anyway.

That’s all for today! :front_facing_baby_chick: Layout idea borrowed from Orangesareus because I think it’s brilliant, thank you!

Hehe thanks! Honestly the type of glue used made the most difference. You know I’m crazy enough to think about attempting Demon Dora again. If I can get one for like 5 bucks hahahaha.

Thank you Nita! Hahaha yeah I realised I shouldn’t really say I can’t paint paper I’ll edit that. More like I wasn’t confident enough to paint the thin sheet of paper just in case I muck up.

Thank you so much! :pink_heart: I hoard all my leftovers for this reason. :joy:

ahahah I saw someone selling for 25 CAD, and I thought maybe starting fresh again… maybe my opened kit has some sort of ancient curse.

Same! It makes the kit lasts longer. :face_holding_back_tears: I do enjoy both old and new styles but I’m sad they no longer make them as hands on.

As my skills are growing im also starting to lean more to the older type kits. I’ve been looking also at those plastic models and dyi dioramas. I would love to learn how to make those.
