I grew up with what felt like a revolving door of stepfathers. My childhood wasn’t easy and there were multiple opportunities for me to choose the wrong people or events in my life. I will be eternally grateful for the guidance, wisdom, and love of my Grandma Betty. She stepped up to become my female role model when I didn’t have anyone else to fill that role. She was always willing to listen and be there for me, somehow always giving the perfect advice that I needed at the time. As I got older, she became my best friend and the first person I want to call to tell good news to, or just to hear her voice and chat. Thank you, Grandma, for always being there for me, and while I didn’t know it at the time, you helped guide me to be the person I have become today. I will forever be thankful for your support, guidance, and unconditional love.
I built this Elsa’s Tailoring kit with my grandma in mind. Every single piece of fabric in this build is from my grandma’s sewing supplies. (Except the dress). The flower pot on the floor is actually a metal thimble that was hers as well. I even put a picture of my grandma and grandpa on the wall. This build will always be special to me…a part of her that will be with me always, that I can share with my daughter so that one day she will look at this creation and feel the warmth of love coming from me and her great grandma Betty as well. It’s very fitting that the front says “Eternal Grace”…so meaningful!
