The sets come with laser cut wood boards of the same cover. I repainted the kits using acrylic paint and gold leaf paint by folkart (I used a nail art brush for details). I had a lot of fun repainting them!
If you were interested in repainting any of these: Please paint the pieces BEFORE assembly, trust me, it’s very difficult to paint them after it’s built haha!
Fair warning: These were a tad tedious, had to by the Starry Sky Dome (rounded at top). 3 different times because I kept accidentally breaking pieces when assembly
The painting adds an elegance to the builds. This is lovely. Thanks for the tip about the Starry Dome. I found that it is quite fragile in places and requires a gentle hand.
LOVE IT!!! I’m such a heavy hand, i glued the entire thing together as well so i had moments that required me to put a ton of force into fitting pieces together
Thank you!! The finished builds look so nice, I spent each kit debating if it was even worth it LOL! I’m glad I have a magnifying head piece from making jewelry, or else I would’ve had a constant migraine holding each pieces to paint 3 inches from my face with an eye closed so I could see with my binocular diplopia LOL (the lasered details on the wood aren’t very apparent)
