This build was a-ma-zing and beautiful! And bigger than expected.
So… While I was building the Dream Gift Factory (and I still have a way to go) my girlfriend chose the Carousel as something she wanted me to build for the Christmas decoration (and well, the whole year!). The idea was to slowly build it after I was done with the factory, but then we spent the weekend together and off she went: “hey, what if we build this together this weekend? I mean, I don’t have the patience for it, but I don’t know, we can play some music and we can chat while you build it and I take and give you the pieces you need for each part”.
And man, what a beautiful couple experience. We laughed, we enjoyed it, we were eager to see it get bigger and take “life”, and while I’m not used to building something like this “on one go” and it’s not my preferred way to do it, it was a different experience and it was indeed a rewarding couple experience!
I can tell you the carousel is really BEAUTIFUL, and bigger than what you could expect. This is my first Rolife mechanical model (the other two ones, Seahorse Barque and Dream Gift Factory, are Rokr), and what a wonder. Everything comes together perfectly and smoothly, even if some parts, specially when it comes to things like “make those cords go through there and hang them there”, are a bit tricky. But it’s a wonderful, if shorter than expected, journey.

As you can see, it’s a wonder itself of lights, colors and smooth turns! And it comes with two classical music tracks so you can pic your favorite (or none at all).

Oh! Last but not least, while it’s an easy to follow and smooth build most of the way imo, I’m sharing the one and only tip I wish I had beforehand:
Not sure how noticeable this is in the picture, but the wires on top of the “main column” are stuck together with a black sticker twice: first at the very top of the column, and second right before the beginning of the white “paper” of lights. Specially for the second one, keep in mind that those two stickers are temporary, meaning that the purpose of them are to make it easier to take those wires together through some holes in some pieces, and after that you’ll be expected to remove those stickers so each wire will be able to go through their own holes and directions.
I’m telling you this because when putting the wires together with the stickers I made sure they were… Properly stuck together, so it was a hard job to take the stickers off without damaging the wires
kindly have that in mind if you ever plan on building this.
