I’m done with the Barque. I was inspired by Paul Bird and wanted to make my version of a well preserved shipwreck from the 1800s. I still like Paul’s better but I’m proud of this one. I looked at lots of pictures including the attached for colors. And I read which colors would be on ships from the 1800s and went from there. For the sails I just pained them with white wall paint to make it thicker and stiff & I stained them with tea bags.

It’s insane
I really love your vision of this ship!
Absolutely stunning
it looks like this ship has been on the seabed for a long time
Welcome to the community @StellSumaoang!!
Wow, that’s such an amazing idea! Using tea bags for the sails is super clever — it really gives them that aged look. I love how you made it your own while still being inspired by Paul’s version. You should definitely be proud, it looks fantastic!!! ![]()
Oh Stella, I am so happy to see you here. Feel free to share your other artistic talents as well! This turned out amazing. Paul inspired a LOT of people.
welcome @StellSumaoang to our community first ! ![]()
Your ROKR ship version with history look, like it very much.
I saw this one on facebook and loved it. The colours are amazing
Thank you!
I’m so glad other people see that because I’m biased so I’m glad I accomplished my goal.
Thank you! I actually tried coffee at first but it didn’t take how I wanted but the tea bags worked out perfectly.
Thanks yeah I’m glad I joined. I wanted to get the space shuttle but didn’t order yet because now I’m going on a trip to Nashville (for Dateline Live about the true crime show Dateline with all the hosts etc) and I’m trying to cut down on expenses. This is a cool community though. Also do you know if I can fix my @ name? So it says Stella instead of Stell?
Thanks so much!
Thank you! I appreciate it.
This is incredible!!!
i stive to be this good!
I’m sorry that I can’t help you there. I am not very tech savvy. I’m not even sure how I got my “username”… @StellSumaoang

You are a serious person. When I paint, I only consider whether the color is suitable. I rarely think about history or the colors of ships in the past. You can share more about this aspect. Many people may rarely think about
Warmly welcome!
It’s amazing how you researched the colors and historical accuracy. You should be proud! What was the most challenging part of the process for you? It looks so great! ![]()
The same. I also only trying to find a better color combination, but I don’t think too deeply about design. Maybe we should try to make something as special as a project of @StellSumaoang
Because this ship looks fantastic
That’s incredible! Love how you researched the 1800s ships and even experimented with paint and tea-stained sails — such a creative touch.
