The colors I am using for this one are inspired by an acrylic photo that is inserted inside the jewelry box. I have pretty much matched the original bluish green color and I will use that for the main parts. My match is where the paint smears are around edges that won’t be seen. As you can see from the photos, they have silver accents on them but I will be painting them gold because they easily disappear if you turn the piece either way. I am not using the red already on any of the pieces. I will use orange sherbet in those areas. The deep blue will be replaced by purple, I think. My yellow will be muted as the original color is… that color is called pale daffodil. I’m not sure yet where or if I will use the sky blue. It just comes to me as I go.
wow. so beautiful. The blue is nice. The way you make the patterns stand out is amazing.
Super pretty…love the colors!
I love the colors so beautiful. ![]()
This one is so beautiful if you don’t mind you fingers getting hurt from all the silicone-y white beads that you have to push the rods through!! I just finished mine friday and it’s just so beautiful you’ll definitely enjoy building it nita
I haven’t painted the blue yet…and I plan to accent with gold…but thank you. @ThaoNguyen . My color match is only where you see the tiny brush marks around the edges…but I will paint all of it.
This looks interesting. I have never seen this kit before. I look forward to see it come together. Have fun!
it’s so beautiful.
This is beautiful! How do you paint the silver lines? They look great!
I haven’t done them yet. This is how they came…but I don’t want silver clashing with the gold piece on top. I will be repainting the blue and then do gold over the top. @Liset You can barely see them in several pics as is.
Thank you, Tina. A work in progress, for sure.
No sore fingers for me. @valleyggoo My fingers have enough with medical issues. I know exactly how to deal with problem. I use my hammer almost all of the time.
I didn’t really know how to use the hammer to push the white beads so let’s just say I suffered greatly ![]()
Stick the steel pin on top and hammer away.
If using a guage tool included in some models…Get it on the tip, insert it into guage and hammer away. You will hear when it reaches where it needs to go if on a wood surface. @valleyggoo
Such a great idea! I cant wait to see the progress of this one
next time I assemble a mechanical model I’ll use this tip!! thank you so much ![]()
You’re welcome. If using a hammer on wooden parts, always have support directly beneath the part you are tapping on. @valleyggoo
Yeah I noticed that either I use my thighs
or the that large wooden tool they provided with the kit!!
Thanks @Jill_Francisco .
That blue is absolutely gorgeous, it looks stunning already. Are you adding all the details by hand after the base paint? It looks hard to do
