Progress 1: Building Corner Bookstore is a humbling experience

Happy Snow Day from Tahoe! :snowflake: :snowman_without_snow:

I’m making a big build (not Rolife) at the moment and I needed a “ filler “ project to give myself a little break. I chose the Corner Bookstore and boy, this humbles me.

As I started my build journey, I figured out that I will have a different experience with this kit. I already broke a few parts because they’re just so fragile. Thank goodness for glue that fixed most of my problems.

It’s easy to feel frustrated, but I have to keep reminding myself that each, and every build that I make teaches me something. And this build taught me about problem-solving and patience.

Nothing a bit of glue can’t fix.

It’s going to be very pretty when finished. Knife, sand paper and wax have helped me avoid breakage on MANY fragile pieces. When it does happen, we are always thankful for glue. Slow and steady.

Think I’m going to do this build soon, maybe right after Dora’s Loft! We are also having a snow storm up here in Western Canada, it’s pretty lame, especially after having a couple weeks at 0C, back to -20 :scream::scream::face_with_bags_under_eyes:.

It is a fun build and I loved doing it but it does take a bit of patience. My family started calling me Bob the Builder with this one because I kept using my hammer lol
You’re doing great so far.

It’s easy to be frustrated, but it’s also satisfying to look for a proper solution for each problem, right?

Good for you for your glue-solving! Good luck with the rest of the challenge

I can relate because I just broke a wood piece the other day and I know that it’s really frustrating  so thank you for this post and reminding me that it’s okay to make mistakes.

Your space is so cozy and if I were in there, maybe I will stay at that corner and focus on my kits.

By the way, good luck on your project now, looking forward for the finished product.

Happens to the best of us. I think breaking pieces is almost part of the process now. But glue will always be there to help fix the problem. :pink_heart:

I’m glad you were able to fix the breaks. And don’t forget that sometimes you just need to step away to reset. So you can come back calmer and at peace

It’s always frustrating when things don’t go your way, luckily you kept calm and were able to fix it
