I’m making a big build (not Rolife) at the moment and I needed a “ filler “ project to give myself a little break. I chose the Corner Bookstore and boy, this humbles me.
As I started my build journey, I figured out that I will have a different experience with this kit. I already broke a few parts because they’re just so fragile. Thank goodness for glue that fixed most of my problems.
It’s easy to feel frustrated, but I have to keep reminding myself that each, and every build that I make teaches me something. And this build taught me about problem-solving and patience.
It’s going to be very pretty when finished. Knife, sand paper and wax have helped me avoid breakage on MANY fragile pieces. When it does happen, we are always thankful for glue. Slow and steady.
Think I’m going to do this build soon, maybe right after Dora’s Loft! We are also having a snow storm up here in Western Canada, it’s pretty lame, especially after having a couple weeks at 0C, back to -20 .
It is a fun build and I loved doing it but it does take a bit of patience. My family started calling me Bob the Builder with this one because I kept using my hammer lol
You’re doing great so far.
I can relate because I just broke a wood piece the other day and I know that it’s really frustrating so thank you for this post and reminding me that it’s okay to make mistakes.
I’m glad you were able to fix the breaks. And don’t forget that sometimes you just need to step away to reset. So you can come back calmer and at peace
I love how you said it’s humbling, some kits really test our patience! But you’re so right, every build teaches us something. Problem-solving + patience unlocked!
