yesterdays build did not go as well as previous days. My glue was definitely my friend as I felt like things kept going awry.
Pieces I worked with either didnt fit, needed sanding and waxing, or they just cracked. One piece just broke off when I slid a panel into place. I was able to repair and it does not appear to affect anything yes.
Another issue came up as I tried to place things in the order of instructions (piece #1). The issues came when I had to place piece 2, which would not fit in and too much pressure could have caused it to break. I ended up cutting piece 1 and doing things my way to make it work. This pic below shows where piece 1 and piece 2 are supposed to go.
I could not get it to fit, even with sanding and waxing. I finally removed part of #1, placed #2 and found that I could not put #1 back since it kind of fit under part of #2.
Sounds like yesterday was definitely one of those “the glue is my best friend’ days! It’s great that you found a workaround without compromising the build, and your tip about pieces #1 and #2 will definitely help other builders avoid the same frustration. Sometimes we just have to improvise and make the instructions work for us!
