While Professor Thornfield is busy studying his mysterious mushrooms, I’m over here building his laboratory.
I started with the basic floor, which I made from cardboard. It was actually really fun to make, but definitely a lot of work! The floor is far from finished though, and I’ll be adding more details and weathering to it later.
I had no idea the walls were made of plastic, so of course I had to go out and get paint specifically for plastic. I ended up choosing Vallejo, which seems to cover really well and is made especially for plastic miniatures. I started with a greenish-grey base, but that colour will be getting some changes too, it need some touches of white.
Because in the end, this is supposed to be an greenhouse that has seen better days.
Oh my! That floor is absolutely gorgeous! I will be following your progress for sure. I can say that I have painted all of my plastic pieces with regular acrylic bottled paint from Walmart. I lightly scuff them with sandpaper first. Never had an issue.
Thank you How nice of you and glad you liked it The acrylic with sandpaper is the best tip! This time I was a bit worried of painting on the thin plastic sheet, and the lines is so thin. And now I had the best excuse for myself for buying new paint again
Yeeey! I’m glad I got your attention! What I love about Vallejo is the great selection of brown and green! That’s colors I always fill up in my storage! But I’m not that big fan of the smell
Haha yeah the smell. I always have a fan on when I’m painting my miniatures because I’m so blind I have to get super close to them. Even with magnifying glasses lol
