👍 [Pro Tips] Six days into the A-frame cabin

Today I spent most of my time figuring out how and where to place all of my little fishing quotes. I had so many that I did them on BOTH sides where they would be visible from the inside and outside. I am still rolling some logs and I discovered that it is quite obvious that if you put a toothpick in the middle when you start rolling, it makes it much easier. I then have a support in the middle so that when the rolling goes off track as the paper ‘stretches’, I can easily cut off any stray pieces that push their way outwards…leaving a nice flat end. Finishing off wiring and exterior walls tomorrow. YAY! I think I may have time to do my poles and rod holder as well. I hope so. The two "reel signs’ will be placed near my rod holder, once I figure out where I am placing it…LOL!

Great job.

I love how you scribble notes everywhere. I did that with my measurements and when deciding what colour to paint as well.

Excited to see your poles and rod holder.

So beautiful. Great work with those little decorations.

Yes @JDisaduck . That is how most every project starts…with scribbles everywhere as I go through the book and figure out colors…LOL!

Very nice tip with the log :+1: I will keep that in mind when I have the chance to build this cabin.

Loving your signs @Nita_Davis it gives the place a personal touch.

Reading about making the logs got me a little scared to see if i will be able to make them myself. It sounds hard to make.

I just noticed the fridge. Did you paint it black? Because the one I saw before is color red? :open_mouth: Nice chosen quotes.

Yes @serenebliss_23 . I painted it black because red would not go with anything else in my color scheme.

After doing a couple as the instructions showed, using all of that double sided tape along the length of both long edges, I changed it up. I lay a cocktail stick a smidge before the the bottom, then fold a bit over enough to hold. Next I pick it up and roll pushing forward with my thumbs. I only use the tape along the top seam once I reach the thickness I want. Seal the edge, then cut. I will use a razor knife (with toothpick still in) to cut away the excess that has pushed its way out. This keeps it from being smushed while cutting. Pull toothpick out. Be aware when you install top of headboard that the direction is really important. It will interfere with your exterior if installed backwards/upside-down. Part Y8. @Jerry_Boswijk The log rolling part for me was reminiscent of my early youth…rolling other stuff…LOL!

I love how much personality you’re adding to this!
The fishing quotes on both sides are such a fun idea, and that toothpick tip is genius. Love your ideas!

Thanks so much @Wenbare .

I did not think it was hard. Once I got going, I was “on a roll”

I KNOW, I REALLY could not resist and originally was not my intention but after I thought to write it, I realized I was kind of funny!
