💞 Mother’s Day & Father’s Day Giveaway Round 2-A Family Crafting Story 💞(closed)

Most of my life, I have crafted with my grandmothers and mother. Peacefully times where we would talk and craft. I learned new crafts from them. After I moved out and then to a new state, we would always make time to craft when I came home.

My Dad is an amazing artist, brilliant at art and has excellent craft skills. He always encouraged me to draw, sketch and build stuff.

When I was in school, Dad and I made a project for my Environment Studies in which we sat and made paper trees and coloured them. We made evergreens and deciduous, coniferous and broadleaf. It was such a fun project. I would watch my Dad make a perfect cutout tree and paint it to perfection and then would make a wobbly one myself. He patiently taught me how to move the scissors to get a perfect shape and the way brush strokes make the tree look real. It is a core memory of my life.

Wooden Bloom Box from Rolife is a model that I can relate to. My Dad and I made the trees in the same way as the flowers, assembling them piece by piece and colouring them as per the theme.

lol so true. I guess our entire family has become more disciplined and maintain stricter rules because we know the little one is always watching us :joy: :joy: .

Wow!! Making your own wedding dress and veil is so cool!! You look extremely pretty as a bride!! I always strong women like your mum so much!

Thank you very much @Yazhini

Ooh I second this! My dad used to be a state-level football ball (it’s called football in my country) and now he teaches my nephew to play! Sports related sets would be such a hit among kids especially during the football season! We are Manchester fans as well!!

Look at you! A 70s bride in a stunning dress.

HAHAHA! Thanks so much @Suzanne_Jones Please don’t make me older than I am with the hair…LOL! This was in 1982.

Well close enough!! ha ha. The Farrah Fawcet look.

I will send you a pic from FB…the true look of my 80’s. @Suzanne_Jones

Sounds great. My reception may be in and out today.

No worries at all. Enjoy your well-deserved vacation. @Suzanne_Jones

Yes, being a mom of 2 “footballers”, especially when they watch EPL, we call this sport football not soccer.

My dad grew roses for a hobby. He belonged to a Rose Club and showed his roses in shows. He won Queen of the Show several times. We had a small backyard that was full of beautiful roses. Over 100 roses and about 50 miniature rose bushes. We never picked them unless it was show time! I joined in and had about 8 rose bushes and won several first and second place ribbons. This was a bond my dad and I shared throughout my childhood until adulthood.

I don’t have a picture but I am now working on the Wooden Blooming Book and will add some roses to it. All flowers remind me of my dad. Here he is with some of his ribbons. We made a wreath of them together.

Such a beautiful memory. I love how you described those quiet times together, where every project was also a chance to connect. :pink_heart:

It’s amazing how certain kits can echo family memories so vividly.

Beautiful. Every branch and blossom reminding me of shared creativity and the quiet joy of building something together.

Your dad’s passion for roses sounds incredible. The wreath of ribbons you made together is such a powerful symbol of teamwork and pride, almost like a crown of memories.

Im not sure if i have entered this?
