New miniature project, new adventure! This time, we’re building a little pizzeria. ![]()

I’ve unboxed the kit, and the first thing I discovered? THE INSTRUCTIONS ARE IN CHINESE. ![]()
I’m (part) Chinese, but I didn’t grow up speaking the language, so naturally, my first reaction was: PANIC ![]()
Thankfully, most of the instructions are visual, so I think I’ll survive. They also don’t come in a booklet—instead, everything is printed on one big, newspaper-sized sheet. I even tried Google Translate on the first part, and so far, it’s just the basics. We’re good. Crisis temporarily averted.
Oh, and apparently, I’m supposed to keep the parts away from humidity. I LIVE IN A TROPICAL COUNTRY. ![]()
I also tested the lights, music, and motor. The lights switched on, the music played, and I heard a little whirring sound from the motor. I’m assuming that’s a good sign. ![]()
There’s also a card with the QR code for online instructions, but of course, that requires logging into WeChat. I HAVE a WeChat account. Do I remember my password? Absolutely not. I tried the SMS verification route, but it insisted on a password. You know what? The pictures will have to do. I’m not fighting another battle before construction even begins. ![]()
As for the materials, we have four regular-sized boards, one smaller board, a sheet of stickers, a plastic sheet cutout (probably for the windows), and what looks like wax-paper cutouts.
Doesn’t sound like much, right?
Except those boards are hiding LOTS of tiny pieces. And by tiny, I mean please-don’t-launch-yourself-into-another-dimension-when-I-grab-you-with-my-tweezers tiny.
Here’s hoping I don’t lose any pieces before they even make it into the pizzeria. ![]()
Next up: actually building this thing. Wish me luck. I’m going to need it. ![]()
