Working on the flooring for my customized Tipsy Restaurant
Okay, this floor is actually driving me crazy The plan was to make a BLACK floor for the new pink/burgundy version of the kit… but under my work lamp it looks completely grey
Either way, I knew I wanted dark flooring to create a more elegant and dramatic atmosphere: glossy wood flooring indoors stone tiles outdoors
The floors are made from thin cardboard that I cut into shapes and glued onto the base before painting everything black. I then brushed pastel chalk over the stone tiles to create a stone texture and add more depth
The original kit had three completely different floor patterns, so I wanted to redesign it into something more cohesive and “boutique cocktail bar” inspired
Now I’m just hoping it actually looks black in normal lighting and not only under half the light sources on earth
I always love your customisations. I can’t wait to see the outcome of this. Your floor looks amazing already. Adding the floorboards really gives it character.
Aww thank you so much!
I’m really excited about this redesign, even if the floor is testing my patience a little Can’t wait to show more of the progress!
Thank you so much!
I’m honestly really happy with how the flooring is turning out so far, even if the lighting keeps changing the color on me I’m excited to keep working on this one!
That honestly means so much to me
I always get nervous when I start changing things from the original kit, so hearing that really makes me happy! The floor took forever, but I feel like it already gives the whole build a completely different atmosphere
Hahaha please do
Honestly, the cardboard ended up working way better than I expected! It gave the outdoor floor a much more realistic stone texture without needing fancy materials I fully support stealing the idea for future customizations
Thank you so much!
There was definitely a lot more cutting involved than I expected My back was honestly starting to give up on me by the end of it, but I’m really happy with how the floor is turning out so far
