Progress felt a little slow today, but I still got quite a bit done! Finished the little side door area and good progress on the empty cup section on the first level.
The mechanism that makes the faux dispensers go up and down in the empty cup area was all unpainted wood—no idea if it’ll be visible in the end, but I went ahead and painted it all just in case.
Spent most of the day on a side project: installing IKEA EKET cabinets on the wall to display some of my miniatures! (Ignore the blue tape on one glass door—we lost the handle and IKEA is sending a replacement.)
I wouldnt say it was hard, just that I wanted it to not have those unpainted edges, maybe it wont be so visible in the final thing and I am overthinking it, but I admit its a nice looking piece.
Yes, painting all the edges plus anywhere I think the unpainted wood could show. It is definitely adding time to the build but I really like how its progressing.
Slow progress days still count! Those shelves are looking amazing already, your miniatures are going to have the perfect home. And I love that you painted the hidden parts too… just in case

The Ikea wall-mounted cabinet looks really nice. It’s the perfect size for the builds.
