What stood out most to me about Secret Bloomy Nook wasn’t any single feature. It was how many opportunities there were to add little stories and personal touches throughout the build.
One of my favorite customizations was the flower storage cabinet. The original cabinet only included a few flowers, so I filled most of the drawers with extra flowers and greenery from my craft supplies. I even created a little backstory for the nearly empty Lily and Sunflower drawers. In my version of the shop, those flowers have already been used in arrangements around the store, leaving behind only a few stems and leaves. I shared more photos and details about that cabinet here:
I also added a few extra vines to the trellis because it felt like the flower shop needed a little more greenery growing around it. Around the workbench, I scattered a few leaves and flower trimmings to make it look like arrangements were actively being created instead of everything being perfectly staged.
The design of this kit had several details that I really appreciated. The bars that form the trellis have a small snap-off tab on the second end you insert. It sounds minor, but it helped keep everything aligned and prevented pieces from slipping back out during assembly. I also loved that the front doors are detailed on both the inside and outside. Too often miniature doors only look finished from one side, but these look great no matter which direction you’re viewing them from.
The lighting was also designed very well. The wire routing was easy to follow and made sense throughout the build. A couple of the wires felt just a little shorter than I would have preferred, but I was still able to make everything work without any modifications.
And then there is the cat. I absolutely love this little cat. I’ve seen this same cat appear in several kits and book nooks, and every time I see him I smile. I understand why Robotime keeps using him, but I hope they never retire him. That said, I would love to see a few color variations someday. A gray cat, black cat, or orange cat would be stinking cute.
My biggest frustration was probably the battery box mounting. The battery box worked fine, but the small lever that keeps it secured in the nook occasionally came loose while I was handling the build. It wasn’t a major issue, but it was probably the only design element that gave me any trouble.
In the end, Secret Bloomy Nook feels less like a display piece and more like a real working flower shop. Flowers have been taken from storage, arrangements are being made, vines are growing around the entrance, and little details make the whole scene feel alive.
I can’t be the only person who loves this little cat. If Robotime gave him a few new color options, what color would you choose? ![]()
