[DIY & Creativity] Magic Harp - color determination

Tomorrow I will start building my magic harp. I’m a little nervous about it, because of the experiences others had with this kit. But I guess the best I can do is read and memorize the tips. And make sure I do all those things to end this kit with a success.

I want to give this kit some color. And as most of you know, I like to keep my colors subtle. I don’t want to go coloring every single piece including the edges. There can be some bare wood visible, but there have to be some colored accents.

I made an AI example of a color scheme that I like. I told ChatGPT that I would use acrylic markers so I hope I can make something that looks like this with them.

Blue is by far my favorite color, so I think I will choose that accent color again.

What do you think? Will I be able to create something that looks like this?

This harp is beautiful, I think the first photo is quite nice. Ạ little brighter colours.

I agree the first photo really gives it some character!

I think a combination between the two would be better!! for example the second one with darker colours is better for the harp composition but a little bit of baby blue or sky blue would make the colours pop-up even more!!

Ohhhh…I love both of these…but I will say that it will be very hard to keep the details visible with white.

I love the second photo! The colours are lovely

I was more drawn to the light colors as well. I got 3 options from chat GPT, but only these 2 spoke to me the most. The 3rd one was more of a turquoise blue, and although I like that color as well it was not one that I pictured for the harp.

Yes I already thought so. I used white on another kit and I needed to apply more layers for a beautiful result. Since the harp is so detailed, I will have to see what is possible and what is not.

The AI pictures are giving the idea, the outcome can be entirely different .

I really like the first one but the deeper blue and silver really pops as well. Maybe you could toss a coin?

Both the options are beautiful, but the second colors makes me think of a baroque style. And I really like that :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I love the first version you created, the lighter blue one, it’s divine!

Mine was Blue but I painted entire thing and used a lot of different blues. You absolutely can do whatever you want. and it will look beautiful!

Minus_88, the soft blue idea for the Magic Harp sounds beautiful, especially with a little natural wood still showing. Your plan to test what works with acrylic markers feels very thoughtful. We hope the build becomes a success and we would love to see the final colors.
