Just finished this yesterday. I had a lot of fun with this one…but then again, what build don’t I have fun with?! lol This went together nicely. It was a little tricky putting the top and back on with the sky inside it.
I’m so glad I painted all the edges…I love the outcome.
There are two things I wish @Robotime creators had done differently:
I wish there was a light inside the subway on the side. It would have made it easier to see inside the tunnel and would have been a fantastic feature.
There was dust protector for the front and the top, but not one for the side where the subway is.
I haven’t seen very many people who have done this build, and I’m not sure why because it’s pretty cool.
When you touch the sensor a second time, the nighttime lights come on inside the buildings. This is where you can really notice that I painted the inside of all the windows. I love all the colors!
I guess that I’ve always looked at the front of this one and thought it looked a bit boring, but seeing your photos I will have to rethink. I do love the graffiti art on the side of the book. Great job at showcasing this kit.
It’s so beautiful indeed. I didn’t know that it has two different lighting options - that’s such a nice touch. And I do agree that it would be really nice to have lights on the tunnel and its own cover too.
Because of your pics, I’m now considering on getting this book nook
Your painted edges really make the street scene pop and I love how you tackled the tricky sky piece. The idea of adding a light inside the subway tunnel is brilliant and would definitely add a magical touch. Thanks for sharing your thoughtful insights and inspiring others to give this build a try.
Thanks a lot for sharing yet another build from you! This one is also pretty cool! And I always love it when people also comment what they dislike or would have done differently. It’s an amazing kit nonetheless! And I also love the two options for the lights. Nice! I’m definitely including this one in my wishlist now.
