[DIY & Creativity] Fairyland build DIY day 1

So after completing Howls Moving Castle, one would think I would either take a break or pick something simple. Not this little black duck.

I considered doing the Cello next, but I am still planning what I am going to do about colouring as I purchased the plain uncoloured version.

So meet Fairyland. This is not a Robotime model.

I have no idea why they chose its name as there is nothing fairy-like about it. It is more like a Japanese Villa but it is beautiful.

This is a 100% DIY build. Lots of gluing and construction from scratch.

It was well packaged and when unboxing it I got a real sense of just how DIY this is.

This kit even includes rocks and gravel, real ones, not plastic. And of all things, there is even a toilet :joy:

There are multiple shiny printed sheets that need to be glues to walls and the bottom of the pond. I had originally thought to seal the pond and fill it with epoxy resin to give it depth, however the building of this model does not allow for it as the buildings have to be mounted into the bottom if the pond at the end and the electricals go through it. They do however provide a water texture to give the rippling illusion.

I have a few small things done already.

Yes, I had to.make a tiny musical instrument and out strings on it.

And I had to plank my own bridge. :joy:

I am currently trying to build the gazebo, but we had an argument and are not on speaking terms. I have put it away for the day and will continue tomorrow.

Till then folks.
