I bought this framed Christmas themed kit DP005 that I am not satisfied with what’s in it. The tree, garland and even the bear are just 2d. I was first thinking of changing it to a birthday themed but then I saw your post. I might have to color the frame, though. red doesn’t suit it. Do you have any suggestions on how I can color the plastic frame?

A birthday theme would be really cool! I would absolutely change the color if you aren’t satisfied, the power of miniatures is we can create whatever we want! The sofa in my kit was plastic so I just used an acrylic marker with a brush tip and did a couple of coats! I let each coat dry in between if that makes sense. I hope that helps! The purple paint on the model look so even and smooth! You did a really good job on painting the kit! I would like to ask, what brand of acrylic markers did you use? I might also use them in the future.

On the other hand, if I were to customize my own kit, I would probably go with different shades of navy blue :blue_heart:. Because my favorite color is blue and my university’s color branding is also blue :laughing:

I just finished this build too but no customization or excessive colouring for me hehehe I love the colour scheme as it is, reminds me of my Uncle’s study.

Your execution is amazing and the colour purple is fantastic! Thank you for sharing and can’t wait to see what is next in store for you!

As purple special lavender is my favourite colour . I thought my builds would be using this coloua lot, but I actually found most of times I picked sky blue , and white :woman_shrugging:

Thank you so much, I really appreciate that!! I used JusArt Acrylic Brush Markers and the paint turned out so good! I also have used GuangNa on other kits and those markers seem to work really good as well.

Blue is a super beautiful color, I would love to do a kit in that!
