Hi all, so I’ve been a little MIA from the community last month needing a bit of a creative reset. I’ve been struggling with fatigue and just finding my creative enthusiasm was not there with my kits. So I took a little break and worked on a dollhouse I bought last year. This will definitely be a multi year project! It was so beautiful when I bought it but it needed a lot of work and there were lots of wonky features. So I stripped it back, felt very guilty as it looked a mess but slowly I’ve been bringing it back to life. I’ve hand cut everything, even the weatherboards and windows. It is a beast of a house and I must admit it has overwhelmed me at times. But slowly I’ve been plodding on.
I do feel like I’m ready to start a new kit, so I think this creative reset has helped. Hope you are all having a great week xx

@Jo_Zanella welcome back. Nothing wrong with taking a break! Dollhouse building is such a different level of detail and attention. I applaud you for taking that on. It’s a dream oF mine to do one !

Aww thank you David @Grey74. I find all the decorating decisions overwhelming at times, whereas with a kit a lot of those decisions are already made, and it is more relaxing lol. But I do enjoy when it comes together and the craftsmanship of making things myself. You should definitely look into getting one if you can

Never feel guilty about taking a creative break. Sometimes stepping away is exactly what we need to come back inspired. Your dollhouse project sounds incredible, and the amount of work you’ve put into hand-cutting the weatherboards and windows is so impressive. I’m really glad your creative spark is returning, and I can’t wait to see what you build next. Wishing you lots of fun with both the dollhouse and your next Robotime kit! The dollhouse is pretty already!

Aww thank you @Cozy.little.palette, I think it will be a long term project. But I love getting all the little details perfect. I enjoy the challenge of working out how to build different things for it. The lighting is going to be my biggest challenge!

Wow! Wow! You are amazing. I still have my half scale KMart dollhouse to work on, but yours is a beast! And I’m in love with it. If you lived closer, I’d be over there in a heartbeat to talk renovations and decorating with you.
