Copperas Cove Meet-up for August 20th, 2026

Rolife DIY Crafting Event Recap

Date: August 20, 2026

Time: 5:00 PM–8:00 PM

Duration: 3 hours

Location: Copperas Cove, Texas

Host: Michael Lortz aka Harley.

On Thursday, August 20, 2026, I hosted a three-hour Rolife DIY Crafting Meet-Up from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. The group of five adults and three children who have a good interest in miniature building, DIY crafts and Rolife, ROKR & Rowood projects in their hands were there. At the meet-up we were able to work on the projects as we wanted to, ask questions, share building techniques and spend time with other people who have the same interest in DIY crafting.

Participants worked on a variety of Rolife, ROKR, & Rowood DIY projects throughout the evening. There were wooden pieces, instruction books, cutting mats, tools, and partially assembled projects on tables. Many of those who participated did make great progress on their construction and while no one was able to complete their own projects, they showed their half-finished projects in the photos. The photos from the event show a lot of different projects with a variety of interests and skills from the group.

Victoria, Asher, & Leo were particularly enthusiastic about the craft experience. They worked together with their parents, constructed their own projects, and proudly displayed their partially completed models.

The event also provided participants the chance to play with some of the smaller Rolife/Nanci collectible items. A lot of people took pictures with Nanci figures and other giveaways, and that was a fun part of the evening. Two people posted in Robotime Community, Austin, and Robin Kitchen won two Baby Fruit Nanci’s. I had a drawing and gave away my six remaining Nanci’s later.

The best part of the meet-up was the interaction between participants. It was at once a place where everyone wanted to help each other, share ideas and support the other when they were going through something difficult about their project. The atmosphere was relaxed and friendly for the entire three hours. They were able to discuss, compare builds, look at what other people are doing and learn from each other.

The group picture at the event displayed the community spirit of the evening and participants were proud to display the projects they were working on.

The three-hour evening of Rolife DIY craft and fellowship for adults and children. Participants worked on many miniature and DIY projects. Many projects were displayed in photos that were completed. Rolife/Nanci collectibles added a fun element to the event. The meet-up provided an opportunity for the participants to interact with others to meet others who enjoy DIY miniature crafting. The event ended with a group picture taking of the participants and their work. We had some fun also, and played a One-Word Game which included some commentary to.

The evening of August 20 Rolife DIY Crafting Meet-Up was a successful and fun event. Everyone praised me for the fantastic and successful event, it was all fun and enjoyment. The three hours were quick as everyone was engaged in their projects and their conversations and creative process.

As the host, it was great to see people from different ages come together in a friendly way, help each other and enjoy the hobby. It is the kind of enthusiasm which we saw throughout the evening that suggests the possibility that Rolife, miniature building and DIY crafts meet-ups can continue to set up in a local community. I hope to do a few Rolife DIY Crafting Meet-Ups as an ambassador.
