This is definitely not a build for the faint of heart, it took a lot of time and patience. I didn’t really take too many picture while I was finishing the build, but here’s a picture of the stairs without the plants all over it!
So yeah, that’s all of it. This build had a lot going on, it involved:
Lots of wire work
Clay work
Sewing
Tons of plants made by hand
Cutting all the leaves out manually
More wire work
Did I say wire work?
There’s a lot of wire work.
Painting.
So if you are a snap build person, this is definitely not the build for you. I think that this build is actually probably harder than the old version of Emily’s flower shop.
Thanks everyone for following me through this build, and thanks @Robotime for sending me my replacement part!
I have this is in my stash. I keep putting it off because of the complexity of it. But, I’m sure that I will cut as many corners as I can to make things easier for me when I eventually build it!
I admire your patience and your intricate work. It really is a beautiful build and you should be proud.
It turned out fantastic, seriously! This is one of the hardest but most satisfying kits for me (I want to build it someday). You can really see all the effort and care you put into every detail. It looks trully amazing, @Atropex
YAY! You did it…and it looks amazing! There is definitely a ton of work involved here, I can tell. I still recall your post about using some sort of clay to help hold that white window ‘flower’ together. Your wire work is impeccable!
I admire you sssoooo much. I too am building this kit and have had to put it aside quite a bit due to the insanely intricate and difficult items required. You have done an absolutely fantastic job. You should be absolutely proud of your patience and workmanship on this build.
Well, I started building it on February 7th, but I took the last 2 weeks or so off because I was missing a part and waiting for it to come in, so definitely a month a bit of building!
Thank you! I don’t know if there would be a way to cut corners with all the wire work unless you just completely replace it. You could definitely use pre made plants, that would save a lot of time!
Oh wow! I’m sorry…it’s sometimes hard to keep track of who is doing what…but this kit doesn’t come up often, so I just assumed it must have been you. More kudos to you and no offense to @Carmie for finding an easier way to tackle the tough stuff. Both of you deserve the praise.
No worries! I hear ya about it being difficult to keep track sometimes, especially when a bunch of people are doing the same build, like at Christmas time!
Awwww…I understand the frustration @Carmie . You will get there. This wedding book nook I am working on is so much work. They want me to wrap a .5cm bead with crepe paper…NOPE! That thing is getting painted…LOL! I admire your perseverance.
Oh yes…we absolutely do. I can wrap Christmas presents with amazing precision and mask a whole house for painting in the same manner…but THIS? Nope, not happening.
