It’s a solar powered battery (charger) that has usb slots. I’m glad, because I can display it on a coffee table (far away from the nearest outlet) and don’t have to worry about anyone tripping on a cord. Thank you, Alice
Thanks, Minus. Yes, it’s a bit slower than when plugged into the outlet directly, but the cord I have is a tripping hazard, so I use my solar powered charger that has two usb ports.

Actually, I disconnected the speaker because I didn’t like the music that came with it. I have other musical kits, that I really like the choice of music, but this one was not my favorite. It does work though.

Hi Carmie, It doesn’t go very much faster, but just a little. If you don’t mind a cord being attached, it works a bit faster.
