Today I have finished my Dream Coffee Factory. And I’m pleased to say that I could finish without breaking a single piece and everything working as it should be.
I promised to share the only part that I thought was really challenging. I stumbled on a facebook post mentioning this challenge a few days ago.
It concerns the Q4 part which is plastic. You need to bend it and shove it in a construction you made of L15, D37/38, D42/43 and D64/65. That construction is a little sloppy and the force of the plastic to straighten out again is pretty hard.
Since I already saw the Facebook post, I had some adhesive tape to tape the Q4 plastic part together on the back. I thought it was a good idea taping it on the inside, but beware that you need to tape it correctly from the first try. Otherwise you remove the print from the plastic, which happened to me. Luckily it is on the inside of the building and that part
is covered by a wall, so it is not visible, but if you can avoid it, it would be better of course.
For the rest I stand by my previous statement, this one I found easier to build than the Dream Gift Factory. Also the attachment of the lights was much easier on this one. So overall I’m very pleased with how this one turned out.
I just used the plastic ones from the kit. I saw that there were more people using real coffee beans, but I don’t know if they will keep looking good over time. And I would hate to break something when trying to take it apart to replace them if that would be needed. So I just keep it as it is
Congratulations on finishing it! It looks fantastic, and it’s even better that everything works perfectly. Thanks for sharing the tip about the Q4 piece too, those little tricks can really save the day during a build!
Congratulations on finishing the build. Although I can’t see myself building this in the future you never know.
I take my hat off to those who build these and make it look fantastic. Well done.
