Now that I’ve finished my 11th ROKR build, I’ve decided to try my hand at an OcCre wooden ship model. It’s a 120 hour estimated build time.
This is a true glue, paint type model. I’ve chosen the Endeavor Americas Cup Yacht. Because I love the sport of sailing. This yacht will be truly beautiful, if I don’t screw it up! I’ve purchased every tool and handy thing I might need. I would truly appreciate any tips from others who have tried to upskill to a model like this. Wish me luck! Photo and link for anyone interested. Thank you! I love this community!
This is so awesome! I didn’t even think of building something like this. I’m excited to see what you think of it and how it goes for you. Enjoy!
It looks really interesting. Please share more pictures of it
It sounds fun and interesting. I hope you have fun building the ship. ![]()
This looks like an amazing model. Can’t wait to see what you do with it!
Oh wow this looks challenging ![]()
I love the Americas cup especially when Australia won it ..lol
Looks like a nice build
That yacht looks absolutely incredible—I haven’t come across that brand before either, but wow, the detail on this one is next level. The fact that you have to paint it too? This is going to be such an awesome journey to watch. I’m really hoping you’ll post progress photos because I have a feeling this build is going to be something special!
Good luck and enjoy building it. Since it’s all glueing and painting I don’t think it is for me… ![]()
Debbie_McCormick, wow 11 ROKR builds already and now diving into a 120 hour OcCre yacht model is amazing! Your passion for sailing really shines through and I love how prepared you are with all the tools. You got this, we are all cheering for your beautiful Endeavor build!
Oh man. I’ve seen that website but I don’t want (yet) to commit to THAT level of build. Or maybe I just prefer the Robotime style instead of the more realistic craft it yourself and glue it all style of brands like the one you’ve mentioned.
This yatch is looking so cool.
Oh wow!! I’m impressed with your dedication to upskilling. I think this is going to be amazing and I hope you share your progress with us.
My last kit was 10 to 12 hours, I thought wow how many hours, but my god 120 hours, I didn’t know there were kits with so many hours.
It must be very details and intricate. 120hours is a long time if just being and not customising
@Debbie_McCormick wow this looks amazing i will.look forward to your progress x
Look up Paul Bird on FB. He has done an amazing job on those models
Wow, that sounds like an amazing challenge! Good luck, I’m sure it will turn out beautiful ![]()
Thank you! That’s very helpful!
If you would like, I can let him know that you might want to friend request him. He doesn’t do much on FB. @Debbie_McCormick
