[Challenge & Achievement] #13 DG102 Sam's Study - The one with unlimited books! 🤭

After building the Corner Bookstore kit, I decided to make Sam’s Study too. I figured they would look really nice displayed side by side, which they actually do.

I totally forgot how many tiny books I had to make for the Corner Bookstore, but surprise, Sam’s Study has even more. I think it’s close to a hundred mini books that all need to be glued. It took some time, but it was kind of fun too.

One of my favorite parts was building the shelves. They are colorful and look surprisingly realistic. The little details like the red chair, ladder, photos and flowers really bring the whole kit to life. It’s just mostly books, so it looks simple, but it’s actually super detailed.

The tricky part for me with kits like this is the final assembly especially placing all the books. I tried following the instruction photos exactly, but it’s not always 100% the same. In the end, you just match the general type of book or just place them however you like. It still turns out great either way.

Overall, I really love Sam’s Study. It’s a bit time-consuming, but totally worth it.

This looks so amazing. I keep thinking about buying this but have never got around to it. I think if I did it, I would use books that I have read and love.

@Suzanne_Jones I would love to do that too. Maybe in the future if I am brave enough to not just follow the manual

You will. It starts with just a little change here and there and before you know it, you will be a master at customisation.

Wow, nearly a hundred tiny books glued together sounds like a true labor of love. Sam’s Study and the Corner Bookstore must look fantastic side by side with all those colorful shelves and charming details. Your dedication really brings these miniatures to life and makes us want to build them too.

Thank you! I love all my kits

As soon as I finish my corner bookstore I’m going to look at getting Sams study…

They look good together.

They would look great in the clear plastic boxes from Rolife.

I heard this was a very difficult kit. One of the hardest :face_holding_back_tears:

@Alicesharpe There’s just really a lot of books but I really like how it looks. It’s actually one of my favorites

It’s kinda hard to assemble the books after building. You need to remember which is which

@Sasa I tried putting some of my kits in a clear box (not Rolife though) but I had a hard time every time I wanted to turn on the lights. My goal in the future is to make them work with just one click so the lights turn on easily.

@Carmie They do look good together. I want to build more of this kind of miniatures

This kit is absolutely beautiful. I love the feelings of endless books.

@Tricia12 Agree! It’s even more satisfying once they are displayed on their shelves. They look put together.

That makes it even trickier, if that’s even possible!
