Catherine's Living Room Update 1

I have really stepped out on this one. I painted, created new wallpaper and made a new throw rug. Pretty proud of my progress!

With the light on, the wall looks more yellow. It is actually more cream colored (look at the wall around window on left). I added a chair rail which bled a bit but this will be behind a cabinet so wont be seen.
The fireplace was a very light cream and I painted that. The chandelier was gold and I painted that brown.
The original rug was kind of green. I made this one and placed on top.

I painted all the cabinets and tables to give them a brownish tint.
The couch was red. I painted it with a mix that was a darker grey. I then covered it in dark brown to give it a worn leather look.
I included a few other things made. That rectangle above the books is a throw cover which goes on the couch. I did paint that from a black and white to a brown and beige.
Still a lot to be done including the chess set!

WOW! I am SO impressed with your changes! I LOVE what you did with the fireplace and the couch. This is looking fantastic! I am not a fan of red couches either.

These changes look great @jeanneL. Your fireplace change is awesome. I’m really liking the rustic vibe you have happening. So different to the original.

Was it easy to paint the couch?

I sanded it as much as I could and then painted acrylic. Let it dry 24 hours and painted over with an enamil @JDisaduck
