does your employer know about you’re decease? maybe it work is to much you need to lower the pressure on your job?
Yes, she knows, but I work as a primary school teacher in the public sector. It’s not a calm or flexible job where I can change roles or move to something less demanding. This is the only position I can have: being in the classroom as a homeroom teacher, and it requires a lot of energy from me.
At most, I could request to work as a support teacher for another academic year, but there are no available positions for that. In general, we are either homeroom teachers or specialists, and I don’t have a specialization like English or Physical Education, which would mean not having the added responsibility of a homeroom class, but other things. So, unfortunately, it’s quite difficult ![]()
I cannot wait to do mine. It will be lovely when you are done. I, too have an autoimmune disease, so I can totally relate to what you are feeling at times. Hang in there, hon.
Thank you so much @Nita_Davis ![]()
It helps so much to feel understood, especially by someone who truly gets it. Sending you a big hug, and I hope you enjoy your Blooming Book when you start it, it’s such a gentle, comforting build ![]()
It looks beautiful. I love the bright orange colour. I think this kit will turn out fantastic.
Thank you so much! I’m really enjoying this kit so far, so I have a feeling it’s going to be a very special one. ![]()
Awww twin the hearts are beautiful!
The Blooming Book set is so pretty and I can’t wait to see what it looks like completed with your own special touches! ![]()
I definitely feel you with the chronic disease thing it sucks.
I hope you’re able to find enough time to rest and do the things that make you happy. But one step at a time don’t over exert yourself! ![]()
I wish there was something I could do to ease things for you! I know as a teacher, there isnt much that can be done to decrease workload. Also as a teacher you are “on” for hours and that too cant be made less.
Be sure to lean on your family, try to make easier less demanding meals, let family help with clean up and laundry. Be sure to talk with them. Every little bit helps, but… you gotta ask!
and do not be so hard on yourself. Do one thing nice for yourself - even if it is small, do it!
This has turned out so pretty!
I had a pretty tiring week at work this week too. After going from 0% effort during my shifts during the holidays to like 90% effort my last set
, I almost forgot what it was like to work hard! I can’t imagine how tiring it must be with an autoimmune decease, I’d be dead!
I’m glad to see that you have managed to take some time to yourself and get some building done though! ![]()
Hopefully you can get used to, and readjust to being back at work soon! ![]()
Your tulips look beautiful
you chose a perfect build to relax. I hope you find some time to rest too.
Orange tulips are really pretty! ![]()
I’ve been eyeing on this kit too because it has a book.
The bloom book is so beautiful. I would definitely want to build one.
It’s a great kit. Thank for share.
Hi Wendy~ We truly admire your strength and dedication, both as a teacher and as someone managing an autoimmune condition
Taking things at your own pace is more than okay, those small moments of calm are precious
We’re wishing you a gentle and kind week ahead, and we’ll be right here whenever you feel like building or sharing again ![]()
My sister love this build so I will be gifting it to her. I hope she will have the time to build it.
Taking it slowly is the key to enjoy building. Hope you have plenty of rest and recover well. Your health is the most important thing. Take care my dear friend.
Aww, thank you so much for your kind words, twin
it really means a lot to feel understood. I’m trying to listen to my body more and go step by step. Sending you a big hug too!
Thank you, truly, Jeanne. You’re absolutely right, being “on” all day is exhausting in ways that are hard to explain. I’ll try to take your advice and be a bit kinder to myself… and yes, ask for help more often. Luckily, my husband helps me a lot and is always there for me, he’s so kind. Thank you for the reminder ![]()
Thank you so much, @Atropex . That transition back to full work mode is brutal, right?

I’m really glad I managed to sneak in a little building time too, it helps reset my head a lot. Fingers crossed the adjustment gets easier for all of us
