I have completed the final steps of the gramophone. To be honest, I think this was the hardest one I have built this far.
The inside was okay, I’m used to the mechanics thanks to other mechanical builds. But the arm with the needle and the horn with the speaker really were the things I had a little struggle with.
I do think I need to take apart that arm because it is rather loose, so I think I made a mistake there. The other things are attached well and working so I’m going to leave that as it is.
Although it was hard, I’m proud that I did finish it. There is some sound coming out of it, so I hope with fixing the arm, it will be perfect.
My arm was also loose during the build. It was really tough to get everything aligned properly so that it all fit together well. I had to disassemble that whole section as well. BUT, you completed it. Nice job!
Thank you @Nita_Davis I’m already glad that I’m not the only one. With a little rest and patience in the couple of days after work, I’m sure I can improve the stability of that arm.
Congratulations on finishing it! The gramophone is definitely one of the more challenging builds, so you should be proud of sticking with it. Hopefully it’s just a small adjustment to the arm, and once that’s fixed, you’ll have it playing perfectly.
An LP would be too big. But I guess a single version would work. Although, I would not risk the vinyl being damaged by the needle. So I will just keep the one from the kit to test it or demonstrate it.
