👍 [Beginner Tips] Finger Cots - to use or not to use?

So a little over a week ago I cut my thumb on the tempered glass screen protector of my phone. (Don’t worry, I won’t show picture) LOL. It still hasn’t healed and keeps busting open. There’s no way I’m letting it keep me from my building time, so I decided to try a tool that Robotime provides for our DIY & Crafting Club meetups. I thought it couldn’t hurt to give it a try…although I must admit that I wasn’t really confident that it would help. But…I was pleasantly surprised that it worked great! It protected my thumb, and the openings on the top allowed me to still be able to use my fingernail when necessary. I’m glad I tried it…and now I can recommend it to you! Happy building!

My fingers end up red from assembling the kits, do they sell that accessory separately?

I don’t know if they sell them, I haven’t seen that they do, but I would think that Temu or Amazon would have some. I’m going to look.

Do they sell this seperatly?

You can find rubber thimbles at the craft stores, they are a huge lifesaver for pressing things together. Like Gundam models or legos.

Nice to know it’s effective. I might use them in my next build. Thank you for sharing your experience and I hope your thumb heals soon

Sorry to hear about your thumb. But great that you found a workaround with the guard.

Thanks, Jill…appreciate that. Me too!:slightly_smiling_face:

Thanks @TheToday …me too!

The think I like about these instead of the rubber thimbles, is that your fingernail can still be used when needed. With thimbles, you fingernail is covered as well.

@Tricia12 I think these can be used with long nails since the end of your nail isn’t covered.
