It suddenly hit me that today marks three years since I lost my sweetest Yuki, my snow white Japanese Spitz. I still remember the very first moment we laid eyes on each other at the pet shop. I knew right then and there that we were destined to be together. She ended up gracing my life for almost eight wonderful years.
Yuki was never just a dog to me. She was my best friend and felt just like a sister. Some of our sweetest memories was how she’d happily jump up to cuddle next to me on the bed whenever I called her, even though her little haven was always right underneath my bed. Honestly, there are still days I catch myself picturing her tucked away in her usual spot. And back when she was just a tiny puppy, everytime I tried to do sit ups, she’d crawl right onto my stomach to lie down. She had such a gentle, affectionate soul, and I loved her with all my heart.
This kit is going to be my personal tribute to her, and I can’t wait to start on it as soon as I finish Henry’s. I’m crying as I write this because even now, the pain is still so deep whenever I think of her. But I hope crafting this piece brings a bit of healing. My wish is that every time I catch a glimpse of it on display, instead of sadness, it just brings a warm smile to my face as I remember all the pure joy and love Yuki brought into my life.
Aww…I am so sorry for the loss for your sweet Yuki. She was a very pretty girl. This will be such a special tribute in her memory and I hope it brings you healing.
