A major setback on the gearball challenge

Things have been going along really well on this model. It is very slow progress but I always know that that is the case when painting. Today I suffered a major setback. If you look at the first picture you can see that I installed two pieces on the opposite side of where they belong. This meant I had to go back and pull out the whole piece that holds all of the years together in order to get those two pieces out. I have almost succeeded in putting it back together to the point where I was but I am calling it an early day

Oh no! I have never built one of these so a little lost but any time I have to take something apart because I put it on wrong, always frustrates me!

I had to pull two rows of outer petals off one of my flowers last night because I had put a part in incorrectly.
I feel your pain. I’m sorry this happened.

oh. It looks amazing. I haven’t bought it yet, but maybe I should start thinking about it.

Em… is a big challenge when putting the wrong part… I came across this but not for the kits, is my new book case… I remember I took out all the screw , rearrange the wood and then reassembly… I understand your feeling… but I know you can take it easy :hand_with_index_finger_and_thumb_crossed:

I was SO bummed…and I was kicking myself in the butt for not noticing that looked so stupid…(the way I had it) . I must have put those in during a VERY late night shift…UGH

I did that with my last couple kits, put a board on wrong or something like that. And I was afraid when taking apart, I would break it!

Be patient! I don’t paint my kits and even I know that takes a decent amount of time.

Regarding your setback… Ouch! I’ve been there and I know how frustrating that can be. I may have forgotten to mention it during my Dream Gift Factory progress topics last year, but during the early steps, when you’re adding the gears and engine to the first big wooden part, I placed the gears on the opposite side of it, and at some point I realised it and I had to remove everything and start over.

It can be frustrating, I know. But you’ve realised it and solved it! And hey, it could have been worse. Something could’ve been broken. It was just put the wrong way and that can be fixed so you can move on.

Oh, that’s a bummer you almost had to start over! It’s always frustrating when you realize you made a mistake. Hopefully, you were able to take everything apart without breaking a single part. I love the colors, they’re very bright.
