Hey guys!

For my next build I chose “DS013 Borrowed Garden”

I chose this build because it was a smaller one, and because I have already started this series! I kind of like working on a series until I’ve finished it, so all my next builds will be ones from series I’ve already started! I definitely wanted to work on a smaller build after “Forest Adventures”.

First up today was some painting and of course I used my awesome little paint roller that I learnt about from @Liset ! I used a mixture of normal paint and acrylic paint markers. I like to use normal paint if I have to paint a big surface area.

So not a whole lot done, but I actually was at work today doing overtime, and didn’t start working on this until the evening. I start my actual work set tomorrow so we’ll see if I get anything done over the next 4 days lol.

The paint roller definitely gives a smoother finish. I am in love with your little basket. It is perfect!

Thanks @Nita_Davis ! The whole thing is made out of burlap material! I even had to pull some threads out of the burlap and twist them together to make the handle. It was definitely a new way to make a basket! It’s why I love this hobby, you can be making similar items but how you make them is always a little different! :blush: My door is a little messier than I would’ve like, but I don’t think it’ll be noticeable once everything is assembled!

Dealing with fabrics is never any fun. Glue is always my savior…before and after cutting.

I use the roller often, it gives a better paint finish. What I do notice, is the roller comes off the holder easily because it’s attached with a small magnet. The tray looks really nice :star_struck:

That paint roller is amazing. I wish I could find something like this available in Australia.

I love seeing all the different tools you guys use during your builds! Every time, I’m like, “How did you even think of that?” I’ve never seen a paint roller this tiny before, the only ones I’ve ever seen are the big ones for painting walls at home! Hahaha. You’re doing such a great job! Can’t wait to see how it all comes together!

It’s cool that the door handle is made out of a zipper! Using the paint roller was definitely a good idea.

@Atropex There’s nothing better than working through a full series! A smaller build is such a nice palette cleanser after Forest Adventures, too. Love that you’re using @Liset’s mini roller trick and mixing paint with marker can’t wait to see your progress
