Happy Friday! For those in the US anyways lol. This long weekend coming up I have so many things to do and thought I’d share some updates! (Please don’t flag this.. I mean do what you think is right but I hope you stub your toe if you do)
Seahorse Barque. It’s been the hardest kit I have done to date. It’s just the pieces are so fragile and I am kinda hard on the pieces I guess. I keep breaking pieces and having to glue them together. Guess I’m not as delicate as I thought. Working on the masts and sails today and then on to painting my pirates. Can I get an Aaarrr Matey??
I built an enclosure for my new 3d printer! I downloaded the files and printed them, ordered a kit from flashforge that includes the acrylic for the top, sides, door and other items. Just need to install it now. It will make the temperature inside it more stable and reduce the noise. I printed it in my favorite football team colors the Denver broncos !!
I found a space for my cricut! Had to move my stuff in my office around but I found a small space for it Now I just need to get it setup and try it out!!
I got a new tool! After realizing I am sanding the pieces on my ship to hard and then causing it to be weak when assembling. I realized I needed something better. I ordered a cheap cordless grinder sander rotary tool thingy. I’ll admit it’s pretty cool. I already have a dremel with tools, but it’s older and big and bulky and ugly and corded. the new one it’s usb charged and has lasted a day and a half on a full charge. It works great and is easy with my old hands. I’d suggest getting something like this for people with arthritis or mobility issues when sanding. Makes it a lot easier.
I finally got my replacement parts for my other kit! Thank you US customs for realizing it wasn’t bomb making materials, after opening it, inspecting the tiny motor, pc board and wires….dude. So that will be next once I’m done with this here ship thing.
Hahaha an Arrr Matey to you I guess the kit has been quite frustrating BUT I’m sure it’ll work out. It’s always at least one thing in every kit that makes it frustrating. Glad you found a better sanding tool AND found place for your cricut. Hopefully the build will be smooth for this and the other kit as well and the new motor will cooperate
Wow, you’ve got a busy weekend ahead! The Seahorse Barque is definitely giving you a challenge, but I’m sure it’ll be worth it when it’s finished. And look at you adding a 3D printer, Cricut, and new sanding tool to the crafting arsenal! Your workspace is becoming quite the creative workshop. Have a great weekend, and good luck with those masts and sails, matey!
Thanks my friend! I’ll be on here but I want To focus on building and immerse myself in my crafting world this weekend. My wife works so it’s will be just me and my daughter hanging out lol
