Split Rock Lighthouse : Welcome to the journey (journal) of my next build

Day 1 : Unboxing

The Split Rock Lighthouse is my next build. This is day 1 and how it is packed and what is inside the box after unboxing. Let’s have a great building journey together the Split Rock Lighthouse.

So my husband said it was time for me to try something else than the single flowers (he wants to do the other 2 single flowers).
So he putt me up doing 1 of my lighthouses, it has lights in it and I’m not really handy with the technical bits (that was also the case in the plastic flower kits I already did) so I’m a bit unsure about this technical stuff and if i"m going to be able to do this build.
This is another brand kit.

Can someone tell me what the wax is for ?

The wax will help if you are struggling to put pieces together. sand and wax for an easier fit. Good luck on your build.

The wax is usually to lubricate and protect moving parts.

Some lighting comes pre-assembled. If it’s not, don’t panic, take it one step at a time. It looks scary but it is actually fairly simple. It may take some trial and error. Always test before installing.

Once you’ve built one. You can build anything. You’ve got this!

The wax is for the cogs and the rond parts to reduce friction and make things run more smoothly. In the book it is mentioned where tu use it.

Haven’t seen this one before. Enjoy building. As others have mentioned, the wax is to reduce frictions when the parts rubbing against each other. This will make it move smoothly

This seems a nice build to me. The wax is for the gears and moving parts, just scratch the wax stick over the area you want to wax. It does crumble a lot, so place a piece of paper underneath to catch the crumbs and make them easy to dispose of.
