I am just about devastated. From the beginning I have said this wood seems so much more brittle and have had issues. Nearly every piece has needed sanding and waxing. I consider myself somewhat knowledgable and experienced as this is like Build 70+.
Well tonight was the worst. 2 masts built, 1 to go. Each one took over an hour because the pieces were not fitting as they should. Mast #3 and this happens.
Tried superglue but no luck. I then tried to place the next piece with the hope of rebuilding some upper part and this happens.
You can see where I waxed to ease the fit but no luck and pieces just kept shattering.
Unfortunately this was to be a birthday gift. I did request replacements and I know it will take a few weeks. Nothing I can do but wait.

@jeanneL oh man… I broke that same part in mine but was able to super glue it. Sorry that happened but yes that wood is really terrible.

Don’t let this one defeat you—you’ve already conquered 70+ builds, and this is just an unfortunate chapter in the story. You’ve got this!

That’s really disappointing, I really hope the replacement parts arrive quickly, especially as you want to gift it to someone
