A little progress update on my not-so-simple “simple build”
The Rolife Sakura Journey is looking rather different now! The green is gone, the tram is maroon, the passengers are safely aboard and — most importantly — the lights work.
I’m onto the base now, with lots of repainting and weathering as I go. And if my next experiment works, those tracks are eventually going to be under water…
Still plenty to do, but I’m really pleased with how it’s coming together. What could possibly go wrong!
It’s looking amazing already! I love how much character the repainting and weathering are adding, and the maroon tram looks fantastic. And now I’m very curious about the underwater tracks experiment! This “simple build” has definitely turned into something much more ambitious. Can’t wait to see where you take it next!
Thanks. I’m always up for trying new techniques and experimenting. I’ve never tried water before. I need to fill all the holes and ensure nothing leaks onto the electrics especially. Keep your fingers crossed!
As a huge Ghibli fan, this movie is so special to me! That train ride is one of my all time favorite scenes. I’m so excited to see how it all turns out. You’re very creative!
This is looking so good already! The maroon tram and weathered base give it such a completely different character, and now I’m very curious to see how you pull off those underwater tracks!
Absolutely, fingers crossed! Trying something completely new like adding water makes the project even more exciting, and I’m sure all that careful prep around the electrics will pay off. I can’t wait to see how the water effect turns out!
