I actually got a head start on this one at the DIY & Crafting Club Meetup 02 at the North Webster Community Public Library — it was so fun to work on pieces alongside other builders! I was able to finish it up over the past couple of days at home.
I have to say, I was genuinely surprised by how much is packed into this little treehouse. It’s deceptively full of tiny details and I loved discovering them as I built.
I completed it almost entirely as designed — I did lose one of the little hanging paper pieces, and I made a small modification to the tulips. For my flower pots, I used clay to hold the flowers in place, which worked out really nicely.
The one thing I wasn’t thrilled with was the paper grass that comes with the kit. I happened to have some green foam material left over from a previous build, and I substituted that instead — much happier with how it looks! I’m also considering adding some taller grass tufts at some point to finish it off.
Overall a really charming build. The woodland creature theme with all the repurposed “found objects” as furniture is just so clever.
This is so charming! The modifications you made really elevated the final look! The foam grass looks so much better than the paper version. Discovering all those tiny details as you go is the best part of these builds. Excellent job on your 85th project!
I love what you did with the substitute grass! It’s a pretty smart idea and I wished I had done that instead. I do still love this build a lot! It’s adorable and satisfies my inner child.
