I admit that I was not attracted to this one at first. But those of you that completed this kind of peaked my interest so I got it. I do not regret as this is packed with fun! I still have a ways to go but it has gone great so far.
I was not in love with the flooring and tried to paint but the colors I chose did not go well. So I cleaned it off which then left behind a beigish brown tint - not bad! I did not care for a few other things as well and decided I would add a gold touch. So I dry brushed gold over the floor. Hard to see in the picture but it looks nice, in my opinion. I then painted some of the furnitur gold, like the larger table and the menu holder. I dry brushed gold on some of the remaining pieces including the couch. Very happy with that.
I also took pictures of the other little objects and details that are yet to come. I am amazed with all that there is. This kit does not disappoint!
Thanks! I will try to get a better picture of the floor as it looks kind of cool. I seem to be on an antique gold touch kick. No clue why but it seemed nice. I am even thinking of adding some dry brush gold to the blue
I love that this one opens up so that you can see all of the beautiful things inside. I also love your added accents of color. @Carmie just completed this one and it was the first time I knew it opened up.
I just went and looked again at Carmie’s and saw that. I take it a page at a time and you cant tell from immediate picture on box. I am even more excited!
I have used marker but this time I used my bottle of gold acrylic. It was easier than the marker. I dipped my brush then swiped on paper a few times, then on the object like the floor and the couch. For that orangie like table, I just painted it on.
Thanks Jerry! I like the antique look it gives. whats funny is I use this alot in kits but my house? Not at all, I have a rustic cabin like look going on.
