📖 [Rolife Journey] Emily’s Flower Shop - progress 2

Hi @valleyggoo , yes it’s a scratch one. It does take a bit longer but personally I love the challenge. I’m a slow worker anyway :joy:

Thanks @jeanneL :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: the kit was twisted wire but I didn’t like how it looked. After I spent ages trying to make them, I thought of the easy way :joy::joy: just dip a string or cotton in melted wax. I ended up melting a birthday candle and trying to shape it. I tried attaching it with wax to the plate but kept melting my candle as it is tiny. I should have given up but I’m too stubborn and like a challenge :joy:

Thanks @Orangesareus that’s lovely :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: I really like the older kits, they are more challenging but find that rewarding. The good thing is Rolife have different kits for every taste. Hope you find someone to swap :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Aww thanks @Nita_Davis that is so sweet and very much appreciated :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Ha ha definitely @Wenbare! Thank you, I feel the same. I think for me it makes it more personal, I feel more connected to it having little touches I’ve added. It’s such a great hobby we all have :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

Thanks @Jerry_Boswijk really appreciate that. If I can I use florist wire which is already straight, makes it so much cleaner. It can be a little thick though so use a mix of what’s in the kit.

I am thinking of returning the kit I now currently have, hopefully even with a store credit they will allow me! The harder kit I know where’s to buy it, but I find some stores, the prices jumps significantly higher. I will try this coming week!

Exactly! Sometimes you just feel like building a kit by following the instructions and that’s it, but as I’ve done more of them, I’ve noticed that I always end up changing something, even if it’s something small like moving a piece to a different place. It’s like those little details are what really make the kit yours. I don’t know if I’m explaining myself well haha

Hopefully you can @valleyggoo :crossed_fingers:. Maybe you can ask on here if anyone in your area knows where to find them

You are explaining that perfectly Wendy @Wenbare :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: I’ve got kits that I’ve heavily modified but until you look at the original picture you’d never know. But it makes me happy because I feel like that piece is in the right place or it makes sense to the kit. But it is nice sometimes just to create by the instructions and just enjoy the process

Great idea and I do have that wire. I think as others have shared ideas, that has helped me. I feel like I could get through these older kits better minis the paper flowers. I would use the ones I bought LOL

So glad @jeanneL. I’ve picked up so many tips from others along the way, I’m always to pass it along. You can definitely do it Jeanne, but I agree with the flowers :joy::joy::joy:

Unfortunately robotime products aren’t yet available in my country so :sob::sob: and their official site doesn’t ship to Algeria so :sob::sob::sob:

I have given up on my Dora’s loft … making things from scratch is soooo difficult trying to get kinks out of the wires is difficult. I too had to substitute things to make it work.
