Some more of my Slice of life photography. I recently picked up the Bedroom set. While some figures can be a bit racy for this forum I will post what is appropriate. I want to focus on photographs of the kits here and show off how they help to create a natural look for the figures.
I love how you are able to get your focus exactly where you want it while the background is just a bit foggy. I am not very good with photography but these look really cool!
Super cool! The figurines really look like they live in the bedroom! I love the second to last photo the most! ![]()
You have so many beautiful figures. I love how they fit on each build you made. It’s also my reason why I started with miniatures.
That’s great. The figurines make the model even more lifelike.
I really love all your shots as a figure collectors too. ![]()
Very creative and they fit in the kits.
these photos are so beautiful specially the book store and the kitchen stand ones <3
So many of these figures have been in my collection for 20 years. I collected them because they are just adorable. I have more but I have to clean them, after about a decade they start to leech bonding agents that make the outer surface sticky and adheres dust. So you soak them in soapy water for a day or two and it breaks it down. then give them a light scrub and your back in business. The benefit is the translucency of the skin at this scale. It gives the right level of diffusion to make them look real.
I think the cameras focal range is what is giving that effect. I understand that modern cell phone cameras do some work to minimize it for clear images. This is just old school lenses.
The book store is so adorable, I added a bunch of stickers from Sanrio to make it more kids book store. The kitchen is just a masterclass kit and I highly recommend it.
I have shot the figures outside of the kits and I think its the kits that make them more lifelike. The Super Creator Kits by Rolife are perfect for adding the accent and environmental lighting. They give scale props to set the scene. Most of all they have a modular functionality that lets me play with them and tell my own stories.
Ichigo Morino is the woman by the window. She is 21 in the anime Please Teacher! A possible romance for the main character of the show.
Miina Miyafuji is the redhead, Karen Onodera the green haired. Our twins from Please Twins! These two younger ladies are caught in a love triangle with a young man named Maiku Kamishiro. One of them is his twin, the other can become his girlfriend. In the light novel vs the Anime they have different outcomes. Japan explores both storylines, one on film one in print.
I have so many figures that do not fit into these kits. I am just glad that these not only fit, but fit so stunningly well.
I love your photos. I might need to take my professional camera out for these builds.
that’s why it was so cute!! I Thought it came like that, btw what does masterclass mean? masterclass as in fabulous?
Its versatile, you can swap the floors with the other kits. you can put anything where you want to. There is some limitation but its not bad. I do recommend having the roof instead of being a lower floor, having more space for the light, and daylight helps for better photography. The fridge is adorable and very photogenic, as is the lit stove.
Wow thanks for the in depth answer! I for sure don’t know as many anime/manga as you.
Do you read the light novels yourself?
I also have figures that became sticky. I will try soaking them in soapy water like you did. Thanks for the tip.
No, I did not. I did read the manga and have the anime.
Yes, I agree with you plus their pose really fits the kits. ![]()
