📖 [ROKR Journey] Progress London Marble Run - day 2

I have continued building my London Marble Run tonight. About 3,5 hours of building and I made a lot of progress. I have colored some parts but I try not to overdo it.

I want to keep it as subtle as possible.

Tomorrow I will go to a stand up comedy show with my mother. So I won’t be building anything. I might resume building on Friday.

But please let me know what you think so far

Is there a witch?

Is it something significant about London?

I think the subtle use of colour is a great technique. Well done on your progress so far.

It looks adorable. The original, uncolored version also has its own charm.

Yes there is one in this kit indeed, but I do not know if it is significant for London

@Minus_88 looking great so far!! I have this 1 in my stash…any tips on difficult areas?

I think the most difficult thing I had to do so far were to get some pieces through 2 layers since you create kind of a platform at first.

for example the Big Ben piece you create in it’s entirety new to the build and only then you assemble it with the base.

For example this part. It is still easy to assemble this one, but you can see that you need to go to the top and bottom board as well.

I found it a bit harder on this part, because you cannot easily reach between the 2 boards to guide those colored pieces through. So I used some tweezers to just apply a little pressure to get them alligned before pushing them through.

Sometimes it feels a little too fragile so I just try to be as gentle as possible to avoid breaking things.

But for now, in my opinion as long as you follow instructions closely and sand the parts where you seem to need too much pressure to get them to fit, you don’t have little to none difficulties while building.

But we will see if it stays that way

It looks very nice. Minimally painting this build looks like a good idea. I look forward for your next update.

Oh wow! The details are unbelievable so I think you really need to be patient about building this.
You are doing such a great job!

I think it will look very nice by painting some details and just leaving the rest bare wood. How was the Stand-Up Comedian show?

Thank you!

The stand up comedy was great. I already saw the show in try-out, but I really enjoyed seeing it again. The comedian tried (and succeeded) to give some insight into the ADHD brain.

It was a wonderful chaotic show with a lot of hilarious moments. My mom and I surely had a good laugh.
