👍 [ROKR DIY & Creativity] LONDON travel marble completed

Absolutely stunning work on your London marble run!
Your paint job gives it such a distinctive ‘industrial-meets-vintage charm’, the color you choose is bold and creative. What inspired your color palette? Did you use a real London landmark or something else as a reference? :waving_hand:

Wow, this looks absolutely incredible! I’m totally digging the vintage steampunk vibe you gave it—the metallic finishes and those subtle weathered touches make it feel like a genuine antique piece. It really brings the whole London theme to life!

I’d love to hear more about your process—like what inspired your color choices? Did you go with specific references or just vibe with it as you went? Also, since Rokr kits can be tricky sometimes, were there any tough spots during assembly? Any pro tips for someone who might be building this next? :hand_with_index_finger_and_thumb_crossed:

@Linda,Thank you! Since I had already completed Big Ben and Tower Bridge, I knew I wanted to use the same "stone look on them as I did on the other models. The London eye is white in real life. The little water wheel house, I just HAD to do my favorite arbor green on it.

Thanks. I just love the finished look. @jucy

Thank you so much for your kind words. @Tiffany I think I am doing the Space Shuttle next.

Thank you @kassy . I wanted to make things as close as possible to the actual landmarks so I did a bit of Googling for color choices.

Thank you @Yoki I knew I wanted to use the stone look I had previously done on the Tower Bridge and Big Ben. I am in love with this Arbor green I have so I just had to use it on the wheel “house”. The London Eye is white and I tried to use colors that are actually seen on the buses and tram cars.

Thank you very much @Uli.G I absolutely love seeing your beautiful models as well.

I wanted the Tower Bridge and Big Ben to look like I made my original models with the stone look. I did some Googling to see the trolley and tram cars and the London eye. The rest I just figured out as I went along. Thank you @cheomu

Thank you @Sophia_Bennett I did try to use photos I found on the internet for color schemes on the Tower Bridge, Big Ben, the London Eye, trolley cars, etc. The rest I just did whatever came to me.

Hi @Lily Thank you! I took a look at quite a few images online before making most of my color choices. The build was not really that hard, but I would recommend doing a final test after installation of the London Eye. Mine was screwed in too tight, so had to disassemble the whole bottom area to loosen a bit. I struggled a bit getting the back side of the water wheel installed. I did break the very top curved piece on the top of it…TWICE…LOL!

Thank you so much @Inorg I just LOVED every minute of this one!

It looks amazing. To bad it not running yet. But painting it and a complex build can make this happen. Hope you can fix it.

I did. It was in the tiny screen that held the ferris wheel in place at the bottom. Too tight. Wasn’t too bad to fix it. I had to take off all the bottom edge pieces but was able to access it from there. I will share later today. @Jerry_Boswijk

It’s one of my favorite cities!! It turned out spectacular, @Nita_Davis! The painting really brings the London Marble Run to life, and you can see how much work you put into it. Can’t wait to see the video once it’s running smoothly!
