I have finally chosen these colors for my space shuttle. I am going to need a whole lot of silver apparently…lol!

Thank you for being as excited as I am… @Jill_Francisco My usual time for a 5 hour build is about ten days. We shall see because I don’t like to rush anything.

Thanks @Liset . ALL of those silver pieces have black rivets, edging, etc. This will take some time. On a good note, my shuttles are about 75% complete…painting done as well.

You can paint so quickly! I still have to figure out how to paint my build. I’m thinking of giving it a bit of a rusty look.

Aren’t you currently working on the little storage box? Are you talking about your shuttle to do with a rustic appearance? @Liset

Yes i’m still working on the box. It is a fun build! Hopefully i have time today to build again  tomorrow is the Grand opening of the Robotime store  so I will have little time to build tomorrow

How exciting! Enjoy the opening. As for the rusted look on the shuttle, I did the same thing on my Steam Engine. It was tough to do. Someone once told me that the steam engines were always kept pristine. I might assume the same about a space shuttle thing. Nobody would ever fire a rocket off from a rusty old launch pad…just my guess. It would look cool, though…as if abandoned. @Liset

It shouldn’t get too rusty either  Below is an example of my idea

I think I should paint it brown and then use a copper color and a sponge to add some color difference just like your stone farnish.

I had thought about making my shuttle rocket in the back (behind the main rocket) a brownish red from a picture I found…but I just went with a true red. @Liset Your idea sounds awesome!

Oh wow good choice! :star_struck: have you ever tried spray paint? Maybe it would be too much pressure and move the pieces?

Why didn’t you manage to make it brownish red? Did you not get the color right or did it not cover well? I’m very curious to your build

I just decided not to go that route. I have plenty of colors to mix…just wanted to stay with the bright red so that it would flow better with the yellow, black, white and silver. @Liset

No, I have not done spray paint. You can’t touch up edges with spray paint. @Nectarines

Thanks. I painted one that had 1180 parts. This one will be much easier @Jerry_Boswijk

I always do @miniaturist
