This is the completed Record Mood DS017. It has been one of my favorite building experiences of all time. This kit is all the best parts of making miniatures with minimal repetition and frustration.
This looks fantastic! Record Mood seems like such a fun kit, and you’ve done an amazing job with all the details. The tiny Gameboy is adorable, and the paint mix for the wood turned out great. You can really see how much you enjoyed this build!!
Thank you. I really did take my time with this kit. The wood stain technique was completely new to me. I didn’t trust it and almost painted the wall brown but I’m so glad I didn’t because the stain looks so realistic. It has me wanting to experiment with more painting.
I would highly recommended this corner series to newbies and experts. It’s just very well thought out and lovingly made.
This is so great! I love your review, I feel like this must be such a great introductory kit for the older styles! Amazing work, everything looks perfect
This turned out soo good! If you liked the way this one is, I highly recommend searching for the ol’ leisure time series DG146, DG147, and DG148. They are like this one but on a bigger scale! Some of my favourite builds!!
I agree with that. It is very accessible for beginners while still being enjoyable to experienced builders.
I ended up putting a Gameboy in the spot where the tea cup was. Have you ever played the game “Unpacking”. I was inspired by the little retro electronics in that game. Plus Gameboy’s are awesome!
I havent played unpacking but I saw its on sale on steam at the moment I have read a lot about it and the game boy is SUCH A cute touch! It’s so well made I assumed that was part of the kit!!!
I love those details! I especially love the idea of mixing brown paint with water. I’m thinking about doing that in my future builds. And the game boy is a really nice touch. Thanks for sharing.
