I use sandpaper to sand all connecting points when they’re taken out of their moulds to form a smooth edge.

This is a good idea, i do this with most things too. If i have to paint it i always do!

I always sand all the sides to prevent any protruding wood from remaining visible. If a sanding stick is included in the package, I use it instead of the loose sheet.

Smooth is critical and less stress on points etc
It’s a very important part of the process 
without it… some problems appears
