I was very excited to find this new release on Amazon; the ROKR, Angel’s Christmas Pyramid music box.
As always, there’s lots to like about a ROKR kit and this one takes the cake in terms of creativity and visual impact. It was not a difficult build, taking maybe three hours total. The finished product is stunning and I’m looking forward to putting it out during the holidays. For the finished product, I give it 5 stars.
All that being said, there is some attention to detail with this kit that is lacking. Case in point, early on it directs the builder to utilize a click in place mechanism wherein one of the pieces has an extending peg on which to lock the next piece. At least, that’s what the instructions say. In reality, there was no extending piece, and I had to use superglue to hold the pieces fit together. Not the end of the world, but I think it could be pretty confusing for newer builders.
In addition, there were some fit issues that take away from the seamlessness of the finished product. It felt like maybe this product was rushed to market, which is disappointing. I just think there are some quality control issues with this particular kit. For directions and fit issues I give this kit 3 1/2 stars.
Overall, I think this kit deserves 4.25 stars. I’d recommend it to experienced builders who can overcome some of the idiosyncrasies between the build and the directions. While this kit is easy to put together, I would not recommend it for newer builders who might get confused by the Issues stated previously.
The finished music box looks absolutely stunning! I love the creativity and festive design, especially how magical it will look displayed during the holidays. It’s helpful that you shared the issues with the instructions and fit, too. Hopefully ROKR can improve those details,because this kit looks like such a beautiful addition to any Christmas collection!

That looks absolutely beautiful! I love the whole Christmas design, especially the stained glass look and all the gold details. It’s a shame about the fitting issues and the instructions, though. It’s frustrating when a kit looks this good but you end up having to work around things that should fit properly in the first place.
